A quick bite with Bill!

I just had to share this with you.

We went ashore in Punta Del Este the most easterly point of Uruguay (just Punta to the locals) by tender and had a good day out.

We stopped for lunch and had what you see in the photo.
It's called a chivito and is the Uruguay equivalent of the Aussie meat pie as a national food.  Delicious!

Chivito to die for!!!

Anyway it's nearly time for sleep, so until next time, ciao.

Bill

    1. We knew consumption of such a sandwich was borderline, but we'd walked about 2 kms to get there. Steak, bacon, ham. lettuce, tomato, grilled capsicum, hard boiled egg, mozzarella, provolone, mashed hard boiled eggs, mayonnaise, olives and then more olives plus a crusty roll. I've never seen such tasty heart attack material!!! I left the frites - so unnecessary.

  5. Everyone says ciao here - Wikipedia : In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the greeting spread to the Americas—especially Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela, and Argentina—largely by way of Italian immigrants - sometimes spelt differently, but pronounced the same
